Gas-insulated switchgear MGIS59-12 is a ring main unit (RMU) for the secondary distribution network. MGIS59-12 can be supplied in 10 different configurations suitable for most switching applications in 12/24 kV distribution networks.

 

MGIS59-12 is extendable and combined with the SafePlus concept, which is ABB’s flexible, modular compact switchgear, they represent a complete solution for 12/24 kV secondary distribution networks.

MGIS59-12 is a completely sealed system with a stainless steel tank containing all live parts and switching functions. A sealed steel tank with constant atmospheric conditions ensures a high level of reliability as well as personnel safety and a virtually maintenance-free system.

 

This product is in conformity with the standards of IEC62271-200, IEC62271-100, GB3804-2004, GB3906-1991, GB16926-1997, GB/T11022-1999.

Its breaking capacity is robust, with a short-time withstand current of 20kA and the ability to handle short-circuit currents up to 50kA.
  3. Simplified Maintenance: Positioned indoors, the MGIS59-12 is shielded from external hazards such as vehicular impacts, vandalism, and flooding, thereby simplifying maintenance efforts. The design incorporates a clear panel layout with simulation diagrams for straightforward identification and operation. Enhanced safety instructions and precautions are prominently displayed, reducing operational errors. Live display devices are included for real-time monitoring of the circuit status, complemented by electromagnetic locks for additional safety. The transparent plexiglass observation window allows for direct observation of the switch’s operational state.
