Description
Vacuum contactor MCG5-12 is designed for frequent switching of electrical loads in three-phase alternating current networks with voltage up to 1140V and frequency of 50-60Hz, carrying out currents both under normal conditions and under conditions of operating overloads.
Rated voltage, kV: 10
The greatest working voltage, kV: 12
Rated current, A: 160, 250, 400, 630
Number of Poles: 3 (Three Pole)
The principle of operation of the contactor is based on extinction in a vacuum of an electric arc, arising when opening contacts. Due to the high dielectric strength of the vacuum gap and the absence of a medium supporting the burning of the arc, the electric arc decays and goes out.
The contactor is switched on using the switching electromagnet, at the same time voltage is supplied to the windings (with a nominal value of 110 or 220V).
In contactors with electromagnetic holding — (version D), holding the contactor in the on position is ensured by supplying with a reduced voltage of the switching electromagnet, (65% of the rated voltage of the drive), for this purpose, ballast resistors are connected in series with the electromagnet windings. The contactor is disconnected when voltage is removed from the switching electromagnet.
In contactors with mechanical holding — (version J), holding the contactor in the on position is ensured by a mechanical latch, while the voltage from the switching solenoid is removed. The contactor is switched off when voltage is applied to the trip solenoid.
